چکیده
Transmission towers are prone to collapse under strong wind load, resulting in significant economic losses. In order investigate the mechanism and failure modes of transmission tower load whether vibration factor can greatly reflect increasing effect fluctuating wind, finite element method (FEM) is utilized analyze ultimate bearing capacity a typical 220 kV tower. The results show that loads usually due buckling leg members. When reference speed equal 27 m/s, small part main members reaches their yield strength, while diagonal still elastic range, deformation unapparent at this speed. or greater than 30 growing variety legs totally into plastic stage, overall visible. Therefore, collapsed large caused by elastic-plastic Based on aforementioned study, model involving three four span lines established dynamic response tower-line system below wind. Results wind-induced coefficients designed current code not only notably satisfy stress components subjected phase but also accurately assess displacement top unfortunately, could considerably reply with investigated factor, load-carrying be overestimated static calculation results.

The physical infrastructure of the power systems, including the high-voltage transmission towers and lines as well as the poles and wires for power distribution at a lower voltage level, is critical for the resilience of the community to avoid power outages under the extreme weather related loads. In the current engineering practices, single circuit lattice steel towers linked by transmission l...
متن کاملWind Turbine Tower Resonance
Wind turbine towers are large structures designed to withstand the unique loading conditions imposed on them by the turbine’s nacelle and dynamic forces from the rotating blades. Observations and noise measurements of a particular wind turbine showed high noise levels at approximately 48 Hz, which could not be explained from the usual known potential noise sources. Correlated far field noise me...

15 صفحه اولStudy of Degradation of Dry Cooling Tower Performance under Wind Conditions and Method for Tower Efficiency Enhancement (RESEARCH NOTE)
Wind affects adversely the cooling tower thermal performance. A field investigation was carried out to study the thermal performance of Heller cooling towers under wind conditions, involving measurement of wind velocity and its direction around the cooling tower, and obtaining water flow rates and temperatures at the cooling tower inlet and outlet. Results show that air suction at the tower top...
